As a designer, branching out my map catalogue to other states and locations has been a goal of mine. And what better way to do that than by starting with one of the most popular lakes in the country? Lake Tahoe, located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, is a freshwater lake renowned for its crystal-clear waters and breathtaking scenery.
The idea behind the wooden map was to create something personalized, unique, and timeless. Something that would make a statement in any room, whether it's a living room, bedroom, or office. I started by researching the lake's geography, and notable landmarks. Once I had a good understanding of the lake's features, I started designing the map. I decided to use a combination of laser cutting and engraving to create the wooden map. The laser cutting allowed me to create precise and intricate lines, while the engraving added depth and texture to the design.
